The Nairobi Bariatric Center prides itself in offering excellent, cost-effective and proven services to all our esteemed customers. Our services range from Gastric Balloon to Gastric Bypass, psychotherapy, Bowel irrigation & gastric sleeve. Let’s now look at each of them and their costs separately:
Gastric Bypass surgery, also called the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure, is the most common form of weight loss surgery performed today. This procedure creates a small pouch that bypasses the stomach and attaches to the intestine. The surgeon makes a small stomach pouch by stapling part of the stomach together or by vertical banding. This limits how much food you can eat. Next, the surgeon attaches a Y-shaped section of the small intestine to the pouch. That creates a bypass for food, so it skips part of your digestive system. To be eligible for weight-loss surgery, you must have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher, or have a BMI between 35 and 40 and an obesity-related condition, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or severe sleep apnea. If you’ve had gastric bypass surgery, you will have lost about 30% to 40% of excess body weight. With gastric banding surgery, you lose 1 to 2 pounds a week — so by six months, you’ll have lost 25 to 50 pounds.
“I feel great, I feel energetic! I had a Gastric Bypass. It wasn’t as difficult as I imagined. Less than 24 hours after the surgery I was walking around. Within 3 nights, I was out of hospital, so that was really good progress. I weighed 121 kg. Today I weigh 108kgs. I’m very happy. It’s been a long journey; I haven’t gained 108kgs in years, so I’m looking forward to more progress as I go along!” Says Stacy, one of our clients.
Gastric Bypass at Our facility will cost you Kes 850,000 and that includes but not limited to:
Gastric Balloon Procedure also known as intragastric balloon placement is a weight-loss procedure that involves placing a saline-filled silicone balloon in your stomach. This helps you lose weight by limiting how much you can eat and making you feel fuller faster. During this procedure a soft balloon is inserted into your stomach through your mouth using an endoscope, non-surgically. It is an endoscopic treatment for obesity that together with a balanced diet and physical activity helps losing weight. The gastric balloon can be considered as an option for weight loss if your body mass index is 29 and higher. The gastric balloon procedure is a life-changing experience, designed for patients who are not morbidly obese but also may not be able to undergo Bariatric Surgery. It provides a new effective weight loss program that helps kick start weight loss habits and results.
Gastric Balloon procedure at Nairobi Bariatric Center will cost you Kes 350,000 and that includes :
Gastric Sleeve is a minimally invasive procedure that induces weight loss by restricting food intake. With this procedure, which is usually performed laparoscopically, the surgeon removes approximately 75 percent of the stomach. This results in the stomach taking on the shape of a tube or “sleeve” which holds much less food, leaving you feeling much fuller on much less food meaning consumption of much fewer calories. To qualify for this procedure your body mass index (BMI) should be 40 or higher (extreme obesity) or your BMI should be at 35 to 39.9 (obesity), and you have a serious weight-related health problem, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or severe sleep apnea.
Gastric sleeve procedure costs Kes 850,000 and that includes :
Psychotherapy focuses majorly on correction of poor Eating Habits to create a new, healthier eating- and lifestyle. For many people, poor eating behavior leads to the accumulation of extra weight, which they struggle to get rid of. Our doctors found that there are multiple root factors that cause people to become overweight or obese. These are Psychological, Social, Metabolic, Anatomical and Environmental Aspects.
Not addressing these factors simultaneously explains unsuccessful weight loss results using different diets, exercise, food supplements or slimming medications. “I got to begin a journey that I didn’t realize would change my life forever. I was 75.6kg when I came here, by the time 1 year was ending, I was 63kg. Unbelievable! All through a change of lifestyle, I managed to do it all with the help of Dr. Shchukina. So, the journey for me has just been incredible!” Says Bernese Wanjagi, one of our clients. We recommend this to people whose BMI is between 25-27, then this procedure is an ideal solution for you. If your BMI is higher than 27 and you do not feel ready for surgery, Psychotherapy can act as an important non-surgical step in your weight loss journey. Furthermore, we highly advise patients who have undergone the Gastric Balloon, Gastric Bypass, or Gastric Sleeve surgery, to follow psychotherapy.
Our Psychotherapy session costs Kes 56,000 and the procedure includes:
Bowel Irrigation or detoxification of the body is an oral procedure of the whole digestive system from the mouth to the colon for the purpose of eliminating toxins and allergens from the body. In our practice, we offer Oral Bowel Irrigation as a treatment procedure, as well as a preventative method for healthy individuals who care about their physical and psychological well-being.
Bowel Irrigation uses a physiological solution that is not absorbed in the Digestive System, it does not interfere with the body fluids, and it does not cause any laxative effect. Bowel Irrigation is a non-invasive method, where you drink 200 ml of warm saline water in 5-minute intervals. We do not use any tube or water pump. With Bowel Irrigation, you will get your Entire Digestive System Cleaned and Rejuvenated, from the mouth to the stomach, duodenum, small intestine and large intestine (colon). With Colon Hydrotherapy, you only get your colon cleansed, and this is the big difference.
Bowel irrigation is not a cure, but a valuable procedure used to assist the body for a wide variety of different colon-related conditions. By re-toning the bowel wall and improving colon functions, the entire body is able to function more efficiently.
Bowel irrigation at our facility will cost you Kes 9,500 ONLY and that will entail:
