Gastric Balloon in Kenya

Lose Up to 15% Body Weight

Intragastric balloons help induce weight loss by increasing satiety, delaying gastric emptying and reducing the amount of food eaten at each meal.

They take up space in the stomach, which limits the amount of food that can be held and creates a feeling of fullness and satiety. A reduced intake of food then results in weight loss.Balloons are an alternative to bariatric surgery. Gastric balloons are also designed for patients who require weight-loss support but who do not want to commit to surgical interventions.

Caroline Mutoko Weight Loss journey with Gastric Balloon procedure. Before/After Progress

Caroline Mutoko

“When I was doing my journal last night before I came here, I did say this to myself, “Caroline, the journey forward is shorter than the journey already lived, and I do not want to spend the next 20-30 years of my life going in and out of hospital because I couldn’t control one thing, my body weight.” Yeah, so if the journey forward is shorter than the journey already lived, I want to live it at my best.”

Frequently asked questions

We recommend that our patients consult their personal doctors before leaving for treatment. Most doctors are aware of the main concerns of medical travel, so patients would greatly benefit from their advice and critical summary of your personal case.

If your BMI is lower than 30, but you are not comfortable with your weight, there are options. If you have tried different weight loss methods but nothing seems to work, we offer our unique course of “Psychological Correction of Eating Habits” that helps you to address psychological factors as well as your nutrition and eating behavior. In addition, you can opt for gastric balloon procedure, which is a bariatric surgery alternative. A soft expandable silicone balloon is inserted into the stomach through the mouth and filled with sterile water to take up space in your stomach. The balloon creates a feeling of fullness and you are satisfied after eating smaller amounts of food as you are used to. It helps in controlling your hunger as well as reduce your portion sizes, which leads to consumption of fewer calories, making you lose weight.

When it comes to weight loss surgery, no BMI is too high. The main goal of the procedures we offer is to help patients achieve a healthy weight. However, please note that if your BMI is higher than 50, the surgeon will ask you to lose more weight before the surgery than what is required for patients with a lower BMI.

To reserve a date for the procedure, we ask our patients to transfer us a small deposit. The balance is paid at our clinic after your consultation with the doctor.

we accept payment by Bank Transfer (RTGS), cheque, MPESA, or cash, but not through card payments. Patients must prepare ahead of time to ensure payments are made by the deadlines to ensure their procedure goes ahead.

Some banks have specific policies about making transactions in foreign countries. If you plan on paying with your debit or credit card, please contact your bank to make any necessary adjustments, including increasing your payment card limit if necessary.
